Katrina Moore

Katrina Moore grew up as the middle child of five in Maryland.  As a child, she created fantasy scenarios and played.  Many of these memories are inspirations for the stories she writes.  Her parents, on the other hand, both immigrated from China before she was born.  They worked hard to give Katrina and her siblings a comfortable life.  Her debut children’s book, So Long Gnop-Jiye, was inspired by her mother’s journey to the United States as a little girl.

Katrina still lives and plays in Maryland, only now, she plays with her baby girl, husband, and two silly dogs.  She received her B.A. in Psychology and Art History from the University of Maryland, College Park, and her M.A. in Teaching from Loyola University, Maryland.  She is passionate about creating books that children will hug for ages.  When she is not writing or teaching, she is painting outside the lines, cooking without a recipe, or embarking on adventures with her family.  Visit her at http://www.katrinamoorebooks.com
