Rachel Katstaller

Rachel Katstaller is an Author-Illustrator originally from tiny, tropical El Salvador. Though she graduated with a design degree from the Escuela de Comunicación Mónica Herrera in 2013, her heart was always set on illustration. This led her to the Summer Residency in Illustration at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Since then, Rachel’s clients have included Kids Can Press, Scholastic, Laurence King Publishing, North South Books, The Washington Post and Vans to name a few. She was selected for inclusion in the 2020 Society of Illustrators Original Art Show, as well as the 11th Catalogue Iberoamérica Ilustra. In 2019 she was nominated for the Serafina Nachwuchspreis and selected for the 27th Biennale of Illustration in Bratislava. Rachel relocated to the Austrian Alps with her cat Hemingway in 2016 and since then, enjoys skateboarding while taking a break from exciting book projects. Hemingway still remains skeptical about the cold weather and lack of palm trees to climb.

You can find more of her work on Instagram at @rachelkatstaller and at www.rachelkatstaller.com/.
