Abbie Preston is an illustrator, author, and miniature collector living in Denver, Colorado. She received her degree in Art Studio with a focus in lithography, where she fell in love with storytelling through pictures. Her work is filled with curious and clumsy characters, intricate details, and abstract, flowing elements that explore the unpredictability of paint on paper. Her favorite themes to depict are humor, absurdity, and a little bit of magic infused into everyday life. In 2024, she won the SCBWI Portfolio Showcase Contest. In 2026, one of her pieces was selected as a winner of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair “Pinocchio’s New Clothes” contest. When she’s not in her studio, Abbie can be found wandering around with her dog, Esther, or hoarding vintage fabric for her next quilting project. She is especially drawn towards creating board books and picture books.
