Brenda Maier is a children’s author, gifted education specialist, and mother of five who lives in Oklahoma with her family. Among her works are the Scholastic books LITTLE RED FORT, LITTLE BLUE BRIDGE, and LITTLE GREEN SWING, a collection of modern, STEM-inspired folktale retellings. She’s also the author of THE ADVENTURES OF PENGUIN AND PANDA, a humorous, graphic novel for young readers series featuring two polar-opposite besties. Brenda enjoys visiting schools across the country to share her passion for reading, writing, and encouraging students to pursue their dreams. Her hobbies include tricking kids into thinking for themselves, reading way past her bedtime, and dragging her husband and kids to places they’ve never been, whether they want to go or not.
