Débora Adachi is a Brazilian-Japanese illustrator and author based in Dublin, Ireland. She combines traditional media—gouache, watercolor, graphite, and pencils—with digital techniques in her work. With a background in Architecture and Animation, she now works as an Arts Facilitator for children and adults with disabilities. Her illustrations have earned notable recognition, including a Highly Commended Illustration award for the FAB Prize 2022, the Arts Council Agility Award in 2024, and a shortlisting for the Breakthrough Award by Publishing Ireland. Debora currently serves as the Illustrator Coordinator for SCBWI Ireland.
When not creating art, Débora finds solace in nature, particularly the sea. She relieves stress through running and hiking, and enjoys cinema and literature that stir deep emotions—works that make her feel, cry, and laugh. Her artistic themes often revolve around migration, pet adoption, and relationships. Chester, her beloved rescue dog, serves as a source of inspiration.
Débora is represented by Eve Adler.
