Drew Beckmeyer is the author/illustrator of the picture books STALACTITE AND STALAGMITE (Atheneum, 2025), THE FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL (Atheneum, 2024), TORNADO (Atheneum, 2023), and THE LONG ISLAND (Chronicle 2018). He is also the illustrator of DEAR WILD CHILD (Cameron Kids, 2022). Drew has two additional picture books forthcoming. His work has been featured by The New York Times, Warner Bros., ESPN, Esquire, and on the cover of New American Paintings. He also earned a Grammy nomination for album design. Drew is an elementary school teacher who lives in California.
