Ellen Cochrane is the author of the upcoming MG nonfiction, FOLLOW THE WATER (Little Brown, 2025). She is a certified California naturalist who writes a syndicated column about urban nature. She taught English in public middle school for twenty years and was twice awarded her district’s Most Influential Teacher prize. Ellen also lived and worked in Moscow, Russia for the State Department. She speaks Spanish and Russian and blogs about the environment and her career in education. She’s a graduate of the University of California and has recently earned a Master’s Degree in Science Writing from Johns Hopkins. When she’s not writing you can find her on her bike or paddling her kayak.
