Jami Gigot is the author and illustrator of several picture books, including The World in Our Backyard, Starboy – Inspired by the Life and Lyrics of David Bowie (Golden Duck Notable Picture Book), Imagination Vacation, Mae and the Moon, Seb and the Sun (Nominee Ezra Jack Keats Award and Marilyn Baillie Picture Book Award), and the illustrator of My Daddy Can Fly (written by ABT dancer Thomas Forester). Jami also works at Disney’s Industrial Light and Magic as a Texture Supervisor and Artist and has worked on more than 30 motion pictures. Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, she earned her BA in Communication Arts at UW -Madison, and a certificate in 3D Animation from Vancouver Film School. She worked and lived in Los Angeles and London before moving back to Vancouver, B.C., where she now lives with her husband, two children and a big orange cat. In addition to writing, illustrating, and working on films, Jami loves cozying up with a good book and thick socks, hiking through the rainforest, and combing the beach for treasures with her family.
