After graduating from UC Berkeley, Sayuri Stabrowski left her beloved home state of California to become a public school teacher in New York City. There, she fell in love with teaching…and a native New Yorker. Now happily rooted in Manhattan with her husband and three sons, Sayuri has dedicated her career to helping children develop their literacy skills, as well as a lifelong love for learning, reading and writing. Inspired by the curiosity and creativity of her upper elementary and middle school students, as well as her own kids, Sayuri has followed her dream of writing books for children. As a Japanese American, biracial writer, educator and mother, her range of experiences are reflected in her characters and settings. A horse girl, bookworm, lover of the outdoors, nature and world travel, Sayuri is thrilled to bring her stories and perspectives to readers everywhere. Her debut picture book will hit bookshelves in 2025.
Sayuri (she/her) is represented by Sarah Stephens.
