Tom Llewellyn

Llewellyn’s debut middle grade  novel, The Tilting House (Tricycle Press), was hailed by Publishers Weekly as “a cross between Goosebumps and Twin Peaks.” They added, “Llewellyn’s debut is inventive, gripping, and shot through with macabre details.”  Meanwhile, Kirkus called Llewellyn, “One to watch.” The Tilting House was a Junior Library Guild selection and has sold rights in four languages. His other books include the picture book The Unless Alphabet  and the middle grade The Bottle Imp of Bright House (Holiday House) which Booklist praised, saying, “Gather your Dahl and Snicket fans . . . Llewellyn writes with an edge and with heart.”  The youngest of his four children, now in college, served as inspiration for the spirited and resourceful Eden Smith in Tom’s latest middle-grade The Five Impossible Tasks of Eden Smith. Booklist said in a review, “The unusual guildhall backdrop is incredibly creative and compelling, and the kooky cast of characters, including eccentric elderly silversmiths, are a pleasure to befriend. . . A truly memorable setting for a terrific tale.” Llewellyn is co-founder of the guerrilla art project Beautiful Angle which celebrates his hometown of Tacoma, Washington, where he lives with his wife.
