Classically trained in Fine Arts and printmaking, Vadim comes to children’s literature from TV animation as an Emmy-award winning producer and series director of children shows for Nickelodeon, PBS, WGBH and CBC. He has developed and directed animated pilots, demos and show openings with track record for landing series deals such as Blue’s Clues and You!, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Peep and the Big Wide World. Drawing on two decades of industry experience and collaboration with child development specialists, he has honed a unique blend of visual storytelling skills that captivate the minds and hearts of young audiences.
Based in Toronto, Vadim is interested in working on children’s graphic novels packed with adventures, imaginative play, friendship challenges, and humor kids instantly recognize. He especially enjoys engaging young readers through visual comedy while inspiring sense of wonder, curiosity and the discovery of the extraordinary in everyday moments. When not working on graphic novels for kids or directing TV shows, Vadim enjoys long bicycle rides and nature hikes with his wife, daughter and the family dog.
