Vicki Conrad spends her days teaching and evenings writing stories she hopes will inspire young readers. Growing up, she was always found with a book in her hand, and she has stayed that way ever since. Her first book, Just Like Beverly, (Sasquatch Books) a picture book biography of Beverly Cleary, received a star from Kirkus, was a Junior Library Guild Gold Selection, and also named one of the best books of 2019 by NPR and Amazon. Her follow up, A Voice for the Everglades (Albert Whitman) is a picture book biography about Marjory Stoneman Douglas and her work to save the Florida Everglades. Vicki’s next book, a Junior Library Guild Selection, Introducing Sandwina: The Strongest Woman in the World! (Calkins Creek) is the story of Katie Brumbach, a circus strongwoman who spent her life performing amazing feats of strength. It has garnered star reviews from Booklist and School Library Journal. Vicki is a curious seeker of knowledge and lover of history. She has called Seattle her home for many years.
Vicki is represented by Sarah Stephens.
