Heather Lang

When Heather Lang was a child, she wanted to be a top-secret spy and work for the CIA. Instead she uses her detective skills researching and writing children books. She enjoys digging up information about lesser-known people who overcame extraordinary obstacles and never gave up on their dreams. Her first picture book biography, Queen of the Track: Alice Coachman, Olympic High-Jump Champion (Boyds Mills Press, 2012), was selected for the Amelia Bloomer Project list.  Heather also volunteers for the SCBWI and writes web articles for the National Children’s Book and Literacy Alliance. When she is not writing, she loves to tackle a variety of art projects and go on adventures with her husband and four children.
