John Stith
John Stith writes children’s books because he believes in the transformative power of young people to shape a better world. A former East Coast attorney, he now lives in Southern California and serves as a writer for various nonprofits and advocacy organizations. When he’s not busy writing, John spends as much time as he can outside hiking, biking, and working to help clean up nearby beaches and coastal areas. His debut picture book, The Climbing Tree, was published by POW! Kids in 2019. John also writes with his wife Shaunna. Their debut picture book, Black Beach: How the 1969 Santa Barbara Oil Spill Fueled the First Earth Day, is forthcoming from Little Bee Books in 2023.
