Marsha Diane Arnold

Called a “born storyteller” and “magician of literary innovations” by the media, Marsha Diane Arnold is an award-winning picture book author. Her books have garnered honors from Best First Book to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Her newest, Lost. Found., a Junior Library Guild selection, arrives on the scene from Roaring Brook Press in late 2016. Waiting for Snow from Houghton Mifflin, A Welcome Song for Baby from Tamarind/Random House, and Bath Time and Nap Time from Charlesbridge will arrive soon after.

Marsha enjoys sharing her love of story through school visits, her Children’s Book Academy blog, her Writing Wonderful Character-Driven Picture Books e-course, and especially by reading to her two-year-old granddaughter Gráinne.

Growing up on the Kansas prairies, then living in Northern California for most of her life, she now lives with her husband in southwest Florida near the Caloosahatchee River and her daughter’s family, only a short flight from her son’s family in NYC. Besides creating stories, her favorite activities are scuba diving, hiking, gardening, and climbing trees. You may learn more about Marsha, her books, and her world at
