Mia Pardo

Raised in a suburb of Chicago, Mia Pardo grew up in a household headed by a father who loudly tutored kids in the dining room and a mother who worked as an interpreter for a deaf-blind head of a school for the blind. Mia’s upbringing revolves around education-themed discussions and experiences, which explains why school is her primary subject as a writer. She received an MFA in creative writing from the New School for Social Research and has worked in book publishing in New York. Currently, she is a middle school dean and humanities teacher in Los Angeles where she lives with her husband, two children, and a funny little rescue dog of indeterminate breed.
