Wendy Kitts

At 42, Wendy Kitts went from a nine-to-five cubicle-gray existence working in accounting, to living in Technicolor as a writer—without ever having written anything before.

Seventeen years later, Wendy has published over 200 articles for publications such as Readers’ Digest and More. For several years, she wrote a weekly children’s book review column for a provincial magazine and was a contributor of kid lit reviews for several national publications including the highly-respected book section of the Globe & Mail, Canada’s national newspaper.

Wendy is the author of the juvenile non-fiction book, Sable Island: The Wandering Sandbar (Nimbus, 2011). Sable Island was nominated for several children’s choice book awards, including the Ontario Library Association’s Silver Birch Award, considered the “Oscar” of the Canadian kid lit world.

She’s also the co-author of several adult anthologies—Breaking the Word Barrier: Stories of Adults Learning to Read (Goose Lane Editions, 2009); The Empowerment Manual (Visionary Insight Press, 2015); Spiritual Leaders: Top Pics (Visionary Insight Press, 2017); and When Heaven Touches Earth: The Little Book of Miracles, Marvels & Wonders (Hierophant Publishing, 2016) featuring James Van Praagh.

In addition to non-fiction, Wendy writes picture books, chapter books, middle grade, plays and screenplays. She’s an Infinite Possibilities certified trainer (based on Mike Dooley’s NYT-bestseller, Infinite Possibilities: The Art of Living Your Dreams) and is passionate about helping others make their writing dreams come true. She supports writers in uncovering their voices through editing, mentoring and facilitating writing workshops.

Wendy’s living her own dream of living and writing at the beach year-round, splitting her time between Caissie Cape, New Brunswick, and San Diego, California. For more information, please go to www.wendykitts.ca.
